NC T-Shirts To Raise Hurricane Relief Funds

Yesterday, I went to Boone and Blowing Rock to see the devastation firsthand and find out how I could help. What I saw was both hopeful and terribly sad.

Let's start with the good news: people were everywhere helping one another. Sweeping brush that litters parking lots and driveways, cutting up and moving trees, providing food, running collection drives—the beauty of the community coming together was everything. And to see the emergency responders from all over the Southeast was tremendous.

Here are a few photos that I captured of humanity at its finest.

In fact, Boone is so overrun with volunteers this week that they thanked me for my help but said, “I don't know what to do with more people right now.” They are asking us to send money or buy gift cards from local businesses that are hurting. Their primary request is that we all check back in a month or six... this is a marathon, and once the media has stopped covering it, they will need more help than ever.

Now for the bad news: Boone is a ghost town. During what is normally the busiest time of year, King Street (their main street) is empty of students and tourists. Fall is the busiest tourism season due to fall leaves and App State football games. Further, you can see how many buildings are empty and potentially irreparable. It is truly heartbreaking. There are also pallets, trash, and debris on every street side.

These areas where Hurricane Helene destroyed so much need our help. This is why I am running two different fundraisers (for US residents only) right now for wonderful organizations who are on the ground helping right now:

T-Shirt Sales Support Clean Water In WNC

Wine to Water is based in Boone and helping people gain access to clean water. Buy one of my art t-shirts (available in short and long sleeves) to benefit this organization, which is doing so much good right now.  Also, their donations are currently being matched, so your contribution has double the impact!

NC Art Prints Help Provide Hot Food

50% of this print's proceeds will go to World Central Kitchen, which is on the ground in that area, supporting the people with food and potable water during this difficult time.

This is my best-selling print featuring our North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The fundraiser includes a limited, numbered series of 8"x 10 " prints for $25 and will run for one more week. Get yours now.

Don't Live In NC?

I am happy to offer US residents another of my prints for the same price and make the same donation to either organization on your behalf. Just send me a message.

Show Your Support

Whether you buy one of my items or contribute in another way, anything you can give will help these devastated regions. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.💔

Thank you so much for your support. Please don't hesitate to pass along this fundraiser to anyone you think might be interested.
